WHAT I ORDERED: Banana Leaf Salmon, Crispy Pad Thai, Calamari, Tom Yum Soup, Scallion Pancakes PARKING: Some parking out back but also a parking garage with retail spots INSIDE: Great vibes with friendly servers, it's a spacious place that has simple yet fun decor THE FOODS/DRINKS: Banana leaf salmon was fresh and the flavors complimented each other very well. It had a good spice level with a hint of something floral we couldn't pinpoint but gave it a uniqueness to the dish. You also get a side of rice to eat with the delicious sauce. The crispy pad Thai is a fun spin on the dish with the crunchy noodles. I would definitely order both entrees again. The tom yum soup is more of a personal serving size but it had a good balance of sourness and umami. I asked for a bowl of rice to eat with it. Calamari and scallion pancakes were good appetizers but would prefer the calamari over the scallion pancakes if I had to pick between the two.

Sometimes you don't know a good thing until you have it. Having once lived 4mins away from this restaurant in 2021, passing it daily while jogging and/or running errands, I was finally introduced to this restaurant in 2024 while visiting a friend for graduation. That friend suggested this place for lunch on Saturday, May 11th around 11:30am and what an experience it was. Finding the way to the entrance is a bit obscure but with the tall ceilings, large door(s), well-balanced natural lighting, and perfectly placed wooden fixtures, it is instantly welcoming once you come in. As the first to arrive, I attempted to get a table but their policy is that the entire party must be present before being seated. This gave me time to appreciate the interior design while I waited. The combination of bamboo, pop-style furniture, natural light exposure and modern fixtures really do uphold the name. Once the three others arrived, we decided to be seated on their patio section. I appreciated the interior but the goal was to eat (surprisingly, you don't really notice the traffic behind you). The menu was insanely robust! There's so many delicious options to choose from in addition to what you'd expect from an Asian restaurant; Pho, dumplings, fried rice, soups, you name it! The server was kind and patient. We took a while to look over the menu to decide but he checked on us a few times and had all the answers to all of our questions. I ended up ordering two Dragon Mule cocktails and Scallop Rainbow Dumplings while the table ordered Orange Chicken and Chicken Dumplings. Each item was complimentary in it's own right. The Mules were superb, a smooth & fruity passion fruit with just enough kick. The chicken dumplings were amazing! Hot to the touch and succulent. (Don't forget the Panang Sauce!) The Orange Chicken was absolutely perfect! The chicken was juicy, the glaze was smooth & rich and it didn't compromise the crispyness of the skin (and obviously the rice was perfect). I was stepping out of my comfort zone with the rainbow scallops but I was still impressed. Soft texture, moist and rich flavor - garnished with a beautiful flower. Overall, I was tremendously impressed with this fine establishment. Price aside, the ambiance, the service, the expansive menu, explains why 1618 is constantly in demand. I cannot believe that it took so long for me to visit. It is officially a delicacy, a must-see Asian restaurant in Austin for momentous occasions or a pleasant food destination for spa-like service. I can't wait to return to try more unique offerings.

We went for a last minute dinner and it was so good. I completely forgot to take pictures of the main dishes because we literally scarfed them down as soon as they arrived. The wait time was very short. They said it would be 15 minutes and it was 5 minutes. There was a live violinist that was playing during our dinner and it was such a nice environment. I very much recommend this restaurant and look forward to taking people with me who visit from out of town. Quick note: the chicken pad thai was very spicy. Our server said it was a little spice and it was more like adding a little flavor but I had to switch with my husband because it was too spicy. However what he got was incredible so it was zero issue.

Finally made it out here for a birthday and I enjoyed the food (though pretty hard to hear each other over the live music). Our group's consensus is that we should come during lunch if we're trying to have conversations. Parking was packed (even in the garage) and the restaurant was packed for a Thursday night! Definitely make reservations. Very decently priced for a nicer restaurant on this side of 35. Definitely would take my parents. They should probably make the temp lower indoors. It was warm when we were there. Service is good - they were very attentive and did a nice birthday thing for us. Calamari and crispy tofu were my favorite. The pho was quite good for Austin, but as a Việt girl it's hard to justify an $18 pho. Papaya salad was very well done. We also got a coconut and it definitely hit the spot! I wasn't too big a fan of the pineapple fried rice or the crispy pad Thai in comparison to the appetizers. Their beef was pretty good. The presentation though was solid. Will definitely be back for the apps.

1618 Asian Fusion is a Yelp favorite and I've never been here till recently. I'm so glad I did! I ordered the brisket and filet mignon pho for lunch and it did not disappoint. It's very filling. The best part: the broth! My fiancé ordered the pad Thai noodles with chicken. Our waitress did inform him ahead of time that it was medium spicy. My fiancé agreed it was a bit spicier than what he was used to for pad Thai but nevertheless, he enjoyed it. Even better than our meals was the fantastic service. Our drink glasses were never empty! Everyone here seems to work as a team. It's great! I can't wait to come back!
